Canadian Pacific Holiday Train returns to the Village on Dec. 9

November 18, 2022—A beloved holiday tradition will return to the Milwaukee area for the first time since 2019 when the Canadian-Pacific Holiday Train makes a stop in Wauwatosa Village to benefit local food pantry Tosa Cares.

The Holiday Train, which raises awareness and funds for food insecurity across the Canadian Pacific network, will arrive at the track crossing on Harwood Avenue, just south of the Menomonee River, at 4 p.m. on December 9. The train stop in Tosa is presented by Homestead Realty.

The Holiday Train features cars decorated in lights and holiday decorations. During the stop, there will be live performances by musicians Alan Doyle and Kelly Prescott, and of course, Santa himself will make an appearance. The train will depart around 4:45 p.m.

Donations of healthy, non-perishable food items and cash will be collected for Tosa Cares during the event. Donation collection sites during the event are:

• Homestead Realty, 7734 Harwood Ave. (also accepting donations leading up to the event)

• St. John’s Lutheran School, 1278 Dewey Ave. (Harwood side)

• Root Common Park, at the intersection of Harwood and Wauwatosa Avenues

• State Street between Underwood and Wauwatosa Avenues

• Local Girl Scouts will be moving through the crowd collecting donations

“We’re so thrilled to have the Holiday Train back after a two-year hiatus,” said Nicole Borowski, Broker/Owner of presenting sponsor Homestead Realty. “This family event has been a huge part of Wauwatosa’s holiday celebrations in past years, and it benefits such an important cause.”

After the Holiday Train departs, the celebration will continue with the Wauwatosa Village Tree Lighting, sponsored by Waterstone Bank, at the intersection of Harwood and Wauwatosa Avenues. The Tree Lighting event will also feature visits with Santa, a kids’ scavenger hunt, a performance by the McKinley Elementary children’s choir, and an appearance by Mrs. Wisconsin 2023, Heather Ann Shea.
